Art has landed.

I’m outside of my head to announce that the artwork for the long awaited (at last by us) J / Q full length is complete. This was the final grueling obstacle. It had to be that way. This album was a labor of love, and true love, as we all know, means an absolute stubborn unwillingness to compromise. No matter how tiny the detail, it had to be just right. For better or worse, we are not on anybody’s timeline but our own. So we were free to pick and poke an prod and adjust and readjust and meditate and revert and pick a little more until we got it just right.

If we’ve learned anything, its that deadlines and limitations can be your friend.

About

J/Q consists of Johnny Northrup (Clouds, Pet Genius, Octave Museum, thee Electric Bastards, Cancer Conspiracy, Burning Paris) on bass/vocals, Q (Clouds, and currently Doomriders) on drums and Alex Hartman on synths/keys. Johnny and Q played together in the band Clouds (HydraHead Records) for several years. Clouds put out 2 albums, an EP and toured a bunch. After one of Clouds’ guitar players moved to NYC, the band stopped playing, so Johnny and Q continued to work on new material. The two just kept writing and demoing songs until a full album's worth of material was generated. As luck would have it, both Johnny and Alex worked at Camp Street Studios (R.I.P) in Cambridge, MA. Working after hours, they were able to get the tracking done on the album before the studio closed in January 2011. Originally, just Johnny and Q worked on these songs with Alex engineering the studio sessions. A great working relationship developed and eventually, Alex was asked if he wanted to officially join the band. J/Q had found the /, and with that invalid character, officially became the most difficult band to find on the internet. Judge us harshly:
